Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $1,878 per week in Charlotte, NC

Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MedSurg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (7 PM to 7 AM) Experience: Minimum 18 months of Med/Tele RN experience License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS; ONS preferred but not required Must-Have: - Cardiac rhythm interpretation skills - Experience with non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone) with management approval if no experience - General medical/surgical skillset for caring for patients with tubes/drains - IV start skills and experience with blood products - Wound care and dressing changes Description: The RN will provide care in a MedSurg/Telemetry setting. This unit has 34 beds with an average census of 32 patients. There are three surge rooms available. Patient types include medical and postoperative patients with conditions such as end-stage renal disease, congestive heart failure, pneumonia, sickle cell crisis, diabetes, and both acute and chronic renal failure. Starting in Spring 2026, the unit will also care for Hematology/Oncology patients. Travelers will not need chemotherapy certification and will not administer chemotherapy. However, caregivers must be comfortable caring for these patients. Patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night, with surge ratios of 1:7 to 1:8 during critical times. The department includes support staff such as Certified Nursing Assistants, receptionists, phlebotomists, and hospitalists available 24/7. Nurse Educators and Clinical Nurse Specialists are present for ongoing training and support. Telemetry monitoring is continuously available. The technology used includes an electronic medical record system, IV pumps, medication dispensing systems, and patient monitoring equipment. Nurses are expected to float to other facilities within the region as needed. The unit fosters a welcoming and psychologically safe culture.
