Title- RN - MedSurg/Tele
Location= Concord NC
Duration = 13 weeks
Shift= 3*12 Nights 36 hours a week

- 457 licensed beds
- Level III Trauma Center
- Teaching Hospital
- Chest Pain Center
- Stroke Center of Excellence
- Bariatric Center of Excellence
- Radius Rule: Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility
Unit Details- Beds: 28
- Experience Required: Minimum 18 months Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience
- First-Time Travelers: Not preferred, but may be considered
Patient Population- Orthopedic surgery
- Spine surgery
- Trauma patients
- Vascular surgery
- Medical overflow
Staffing & Ratios- RN Ratio: 1:4–6
- Surge Ratio: Up to 1:7–8
Required Certifications- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – Required
- NIHSS (Stroke certification) – Required
Required Skills- Strong post-surgical nursing skills, including:
- Incision care and wound assessment
- Drain and chest tube management
- Wound care and wound vacs
- Patient mobility and education
- Tracheostomy care
- NG tube insertion
- Use of braces and traction devices
Department Support- CNAs: Assist with ADLs, phlebotomy, Foley insertion/removal, and IV site removal
- Charge Nurse: Available (limited patient assignment)
- IV/VAT Team: Available
- Mentorship Support: Mentor available for guidance and policy navigation
- Respiratory Therapy: 24/7
- Hospitalist: 24/7
- Telemetry Monitoring: Remote monitoring available
- House Supervisor: Additional support and resource
- Patient Safety Attendants/Virtual Monitoring: For high-risk patients
- BERT (Behavioral Emergency Response Team): De-escalation support
- Rapid Response/Code Team: Available for emergencies
Technology & Equipment- EMR: Epic
- IV Pumps: Alaris
- Medication Dispensing: Omnicell
- Monitors: Philips and Masimo
Floating- Required within Region 1 based on facility needs:
- Cabarrus
- University City
- Stanly
- Lake Norman
- Central Division (CMC Main, CMC Mercy, Levine Children's Hospital – peds only)
Orientation- New Employee Orientation (NEO)
- 2 days unit/department orientation
Scheduling- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Holiday Requirement: 75% of holidays
- RTO: Up to 6 days (excluding holidays; may require contract extension to meet hours)
- Schedule Cycle: 6 weeks
