Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years preferred; will consider 1 year on a case-by-case basis License: Pending license accepted Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Interpretation of dysrhythmias Management of dysrhythmias Telemetry experience Description: This position is for a Registered Nurse in a Resource Pool. The RN will be allocated to a specific campus but may float to other facilities as needed. The schedule will be provided in advance. The RN is required to have either two on-call shifts or two additional shifts every six weeks. Charged nurse experience is preferred. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:6. Orientation consists of passing a cardiac rhythm and medication test on the first day. Shaving may be required for a fit test, and failure to comply will result in not passing the fit testing requirements. All vacation requests must be submitted initially; last-minute requests will not be accepted. The traveler must adhere to attendance policies. If more than two shifts are missed without reasonable explanation, the contract may be reviewed for cancellation. Recent experience with specific electronic health record systems is preferred. Compliance documents must be submitted in a timely manner before the start of the assignment. Cardiac dysrhythmia testing is mandatory on the first day of orientation. The RN must be able to float within the scope of practice to meet facility needs. The position is open to first-time travelers. Additional requirements may include weekend shifts as needed. Special equipment requirements include usage of chest tubes and wound vacs. Interdisciplinary support is provided through various healthcare services. The patient population includes those with conditions such as sepsis, dementia, post-operative needs, and chest pain.
