Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 1 year required License: Active license required (multistate accepted) Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - 1 year of EPIC experience required - Experience in MS/Tele Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical Surgical/Telemetry. The nurse will work in an Acute Care for the Elderly unit. This unit provides telemetry-capable care for hospitalized patients aged 65 and older. The staff focuses on preserving both cognitive and physical function to help patients return to their pre-admission baseline. The nurse will be responsible for IV starts, blood product administration, and central/peripheral/PICC line management. Dysrhythmia interpretation and management, as well as remote telemetry monitoring, are required skills. The nurse will also be involved in heparin protocols and telemetry-capable care. The nurse will function with a patient ratio of 1:5. Floating to other units may be required based on staffing needs. Agency staff will float only to qualified areas where competencies have been documented. This role supports a patient population that focuses on mobility, recovery, and reducing length of stay for elderly patients. The unit is staffed by multidisciplinary teams including specially trained nurses with a focus on geriatric care. The role includes managing a daily census of 26 patients in a 26-bed unit. Nurses will collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams, including physical therapy and respiratory services. Candidates should possess strong medical telemetry experience. The position requires adherence to facility policies and procedures.
