Registered Nurse (RN) MS/Tele (Ortho)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) for a position in an orthopedic telemetry unit. The ideal candidate will have experience in orthopedic care and will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care to patients in a busy medical environment.

Scheduling Details

• Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30)
• Weekend Requirement: Every Other; 6 weekend shifts
• Requests for time off must be included with submission and are subject to approval.
• The facility reserves the right to call off 1 shift per 2 weeks.

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required.
• Active SC or multistate nursing license is mandatory.
• 1 year of EPIC experience is required for charting.
• Must possess current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Demonstrated orthopedic experience is essential.

Unit and Patient Care Details

• Ratios: 1:5-6 patients per nurse.
• Unit: 26-bed orthopedic spine unit specializing in spinal surgeries including laminectomies, spinal fusions, and discectomies.
• Specialized patient care with a focus on integrated pain management, physical therapy, and mobility support.
• Patient diagnoses include Med/Surg, Tele, cardiac conditions, low-risk ACS, TIAs, diabetes, hypertension, COPD, and more.
• Special procedures include bedside lumbar puncture, post-catheter care, post-surgical care, and management of heparin drips.

Floating Policies

While efforts are made to keep staff within their designated unit, agency staff may be required to float to other units as needed. Floating will be limited to areas where staff are qualified and possess documented competencies.
