- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Orientation: 12 hours
- Weekend Coverage: As needed
- Floating: May float within scope based on staffing needs
- Licensure: Pending South Carolina license accepted prior to start
Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent med/surg nursing, telemetry nursing, or acute care nursing experience required; 2 years preferred
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias and cardiac rhythms
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and medical-surgical patient care
- Must pass an arrhythmia competency assessment on the first day of orientation
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Compliance documentation completed prior to start
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care to adult and geriatric patients on a medical-surgical telemetry unit
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, assess changes in patient condition, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and nursing standards
- Collaborate with respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, physical therapy, and other healthcare team members
- Care for patients with conditions such as respiratory failure, sepsis, pneumonia, heart failure, renal failure, and post-surgical needs
- Support patients requiring telemetry monitoring and other specialized unit procedures
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to high-quality, patient-centered care
- Float within scope when needed to support critical staffing needs
