Job Opportunity – Medical-Surgical / Telemetry Registered Nurse – North Carolina

Schedule: Night shift, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM, 36 or 48 hours per week. Every other weekend required. 13-20 week contracts accepted. Self-scheduling available.
Highlights:
- Patient ratio of 1:6 on a 36-bed Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit
- Diverse case mix including diabetes, COPD, sepsis, CHF, renal failure, post-surgical recovery, and various acute medical conditions
- 24 hours of unit orientation with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management
- First-time travelers welcome; local candidates accepted
- Up to 7 days of requested time off available (excluding holidays)
Requirements:
- Active North Carolina RN license or Compact state license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical and/or Telemetry nursing experience required
- BLS and NIHSS certifications required
- ACLS and Telemetry certifications preferred
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, IV therapy, chest tube management, non-invasive airway support, wound care, and isolation precautions
- Experience with blood product administration, central/PICC line management, feeding tube care, hemodialysis management, and colostomy/ileostomy care
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Epic charting experience and community hospital background preferred
- Willingness to float to nearby campus locations as needed (up to 32 minutes away)
- Ability to work holidays and serve on storm/hurricane response teams during catastrophic events
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
