Start Date: October 19, 2026 Location: Wilmington, North Carolina Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week
Highlights:
Patient ratios of 1:5-6 on a progressive medical-surgical telemetry unit
Contract lengths of 13-26 weeks available
Electronic Medical Record system: EPIC; Pyxis medication dispensing
Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and phlebotomy
Diverse patient population including medical-surgical diagnoses, diabetes management, stroke patients, sepsis, pneumonia, COPD, and post-surgical care
24 hours of unit orientation provided; first-time travelers welcome
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
Current RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
Strong competency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Proficiency in IV therapy including starting IVs, PICC line management, central line blood draws, and peripheral line care
Experience with blood product administration, IV insulin protocols, heparin drips, and PCA pumps
Skills in wound care/wound VAC, colostomy care, feeding tube management, and chest tube care
Knowledge of non-invasive airway management including CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and oxygen delivery systems
Experience with isolation precautions and PPE protocols
Ability to float to other units as needed and work 12-16 weekend shifts per contract
Willingness to serve on Storm Team/Hurricane Team and report during catastrophic events or disasters as required
