Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week. Weekend requirement: 12-16 shifts per contract. Contract length: 13-26 weeks.
Highlights:
Patient ratio: 1:5-6 on a 41-bed Medical/Surgical Telemetry unit
Care for diverse patient diagnoses including diabetes, pneumonia, COPD, sepsis, GI bleed, CVA, and COVID-19 patients in designated isolation areas
Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management and 24-hour unit orientation provided
Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and physical therapy
Multi-level care environment with stepdown capabilities; floating within facility required
Accepts first-time travelers with minimum 2 years of experience; locals accepted at adjusted rate
Requirements:
Active North Carolina or Compact state RN license
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Minimum 2 years of Medical/Surgical and Telemetry experience
Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
Proficiency in telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia management, IV insulin protocols, blood product administration, wound care/wound vac, and non-invasive airway management
Experience with central line blood draws, PICC line management, peripheral line care, heparin protocols, PCA pumps, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, and high flow nasal cannula
Skills in colostomy care, feeding tube management, pre/post hemodialysis management, and isolation precautions
Availability for hospital orientation during first week and completion of 8-10 hours of pre-start online modules
Willingness to serve on Storm/Hurricane Team and report during catastrophic events or mass casualty situations as needed
