Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med-Surg Ortho, Med-Surg Adult Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour shifts; 1845-0715, every other weekend Hours per Shift: 36 guaranteed hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of previous RN experience required License: Licensed as a Registered Nurse Certifications: Meets the American Heart Association's standards for Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) and renews BLS every two years Must-Have: Strong verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills Description: Responsible to the Unit Director/Manager for the overall nursing practice during the assigned shift. In the absence of the Unit Director/Manager, the RN is responsible to the Clinical Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Clinical Coordinator of the shift. Provides professional nursing care based on current nursing knowledge through the use of the nursing process. This includes the responsibility for assessing the patient's needs, developing a plan of care to meet those needs, implementing nursing measures, and evaluating the effectiveness of the nursing care and other treatment measures. Effectively functions as a team member and as a liaison between patients and staff. Supports and encourages harmonious communication skills. Communicates in a highly professional manner at all times. Demonstrates a high level of mental and emotional tolerance and even temperament when dealing with ill individuals. Uses tact, sensitivity, sound judgment, and a professional attitude when relating to patients and families, and co-workers at all times.
