Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $1,984 per week in Greensboro, NC

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical, Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - EKG exam required during onboarding - Previous Charge RN experience preferred Description: This position is posted as a Medical/Surgical Telemetry role due to the EKG requirement for all RNs and tele-capable units. However, the patient population will primarily be Medical/Surgical. The schedule consists of three 12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7:30 AM. Every other weekend is required. The RN must work 2 out of 4 holidays. Floating across various facilities may be necessary. All travelers are subject to float if needed. Ideal candidates will have experience with observation patients, respiratory conditions, and general medical/surgical diagnoses. Experience with palliative care, end-of-life, hospice patients, and psychiatric observation is important. Candidates should be knowledgeable about diabetes management, including patients with complications. Experience in caring for surgical patients and those in surgical observation is also preferred. Familiarity with Epic charting system is required. Skills in BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, chest tube management, and colostomy/ileostomy care are essential. Candidates should be capable of interpreting dysrhythmias and managing isolation precautions. Additional skills include renal failure management, IV starts, and telemetry monitoring. Wound care and the use of rapid response or code teams are vital in this role. The unit serves adults and geriatric patients with an average daily census. Interdisciplinary support is provided by various teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Candidates must successfully pass an EKG exam and have experience in the required skills. Travelers may be floated to any campus as needed.
