Registered Nurse (RN) - Telemetry/IMC MedSurg

Shift: Nights (7PM - 7AM)

Type of Patients: General IMC, Neuro, Respiratory, Cardiac, GI; management of 3 drips and BiPap therapy.

Summary

The competent Nurse practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of patient care. This role involves providing both routine and complex care while focusing on long-term goals and plans. The Nurse continues to develop abilities to cope with and manage clinical contingencies, making appropriate assignments and delegating tasks to other care providers to manage clinical situations effectively.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addressees complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice.
• Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocols; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of treatments.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identifies issues and resources.

Job Requirements

Education/Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred).

Experience

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a related nursing specialty required.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• BLS certification (AHA only) required.
• ACLS certification (AHA only) required.
• NIH certification required.
• Current RN License in the state of Texas or a compact state license.
