Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a fast-paced medical-surgical environment. The ideal candidate will possess the necessary skills and experience to provide high-quality patient care in a variety of clinical situations.

Required Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience within the last 5 years
• Willing to accept first-time travelers
• Active RN license is required
• Experience with the following skills:
  • Heparin drips
  • PCA administration
  • Colostomy care
  • Feeding tube management
  • Blood product administration
  • Central and peripheral line care/management
  • Phlebotomy
  • PICC line management
  • IV starts
  • Management of dysrhythmias
  • Oxygen protocol management
  • Non-invasive airway management
  • Isolation precautions and PPE
  • Traumatic brain injury management
  • Orthopedic trauma care
  • Surgical drains and chest tube management
  • Nasal cannula and oral suctioning
  • Tracheostomy management
  • Wound care
• Experience with EPIC documentation is required
• BLS certification is required

Preferred Skills and Experience

• ACLS certification
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Pre/Post Hemodialysis management
• Management of intravenous drips
• Experience with cerebrovascular accidents (CVA)
• Pre/Post neuro-surgery
• Management of spinal cord injuries

Job Details

• Patient Ratios: 1:5-6
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts
• Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week accepted
• RTO: Maximum 7 days allowed
• Float Requirement: Possible floating to similar units
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Additional Notes

This position may involve participating in a Storm Team or Hurricane Team, requiring flexibility to report to work during catastrophic events or disasters. A centralized office consolidation may occur mid-contract, necessitating reassignment to various units as needed.
