Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $1,990 per week in Charlottesville, VA

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of charge experience preferred. License: Active state nursing license required. Certifications: BLS preferred; ACLS preferred but not required. Must-Have: Epic experience required. Description: Clinical review and auto offer for an acute care unit. The unit has a diverse patient population comprised primarily of general surgery and trauma patients. Post-surgical patients make up 90% of the unit. The remaining 10% have medical diagnoses. All rooms are capable of cardiac monitoring, capnography or end-tidal CO2 monitoring, and continuous pulse oximetry. Staffing includes nursing staff with support roles such as clinical nurse specialists, assistant nurse manager, and a unit secretary. Interdisciplinary support services are available including physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams. Patient ratios are typically 1:4 at night, occasionally 1:5. Nurses are not required to verify telemetry strips, as a monitor technician covers all monitored patients. The unit has specialized support for wound care and IV management. Travelers must float within their scope of practice as needed. New hires must adhere to floating policies and submit for background verification prior to starting. Candidates must disclose any time off or vacations planned before the start date.
