Job Title: Registered Nurse - Telemetry Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: - 2 years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry experience - Preferred prior neuro experience Description: Hiring Process includes an interview with the clinical team. The unit encompasses multiple specialties including Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Observation. Nurse to patient ratios are 1:5-6 based on acuity. Common patient population includes adults and geriatrics with diagnoses ranging from Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, Oncology, Renal, Urology post-surgical, General Surgery post-appendectomy, Gynecology, Psych/Detox, ENT, General Medicine, and stable long-term placement patients. Registered nurses may be required to titrate drips, specifically Heparin. There is a designated charge nurse on each unit who does not take a patient assignment unless necessary. Nursing assistants are present on the unit to assist with care. The unit is equipped with respiratory therapy equipment, including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP. Schedules are determined by leadership six weeks in advance, and flexibility is expected. Weekend requirements range from 6-9 weekend shifts within a six-week schedule. Holiday rotation may be requested. Floating among various acuity levels, including ICU and PCU/Stepdown, is possible. The cancellation policy allows for shift cancellations under specific conditions. The charting system utilized is EPIC.
