- Experience in telemetry and medical-surgical nursing
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
- EKG exam pass required during onboarding
Description:
This position involves providing nursing care for observation patients, respiratory conditions, general medical-surgical diagnoses, and palliative or hospice care.
Candidates will also care for psychiatric observation and diabetes patients, including those with complications.
Nurses will manage surgical patients and perform surgical observation as necessary.
Travelers may be floated to various units based on census needs.
The unit has a patient ratio of 6:1.
This role requires flexibility in scheduling with a zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences.
A compliance deadline for onboarding is in place, and barriers to completing compliance must be disclosed.
Candidates must pass an EKG exam as it is mandatory for all registered nurses in this specialty.
Skills required include management of dysrhythmias, care of feeding tubes, intravenous line care, and use of rapid response teams.
Experience with electronic charting systems is essential.
The unit includes interdisciplinary support from various healthcare teams.
Nurses will encounter a diverse patient demographic, including adults and geriatrics.
Special procedures and equipment use may be necessary, depending on patient needs.
Flexibility and adaptability are critical in this role.
Travel nurses are expected to comply with healthcare protocols, including vaccination requirements.
