• Role: Travel Registered Nurse (RN)
• Healthcare Setting: 46-bed surgical unit with Med/Surg and cardiac overflow
• Shift: Day shift, 4x12-hour schedule
• Shift Hours: 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Assignment Length: 11 weeks
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,770 - $1,870
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
• Holidays: Every other holiday
• Charting System: Cerner experience preferred
• Float Expectation: May float to similar units based on facility needs
• Location: Kalamazoo, MI 49048

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license
• Minimum of 1 year of recent Med/Surg or Telemetry RN experience required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required
• Experience managing patient ratios of approximately 1:5-6, with the ability to flex higher based on census
• Cerner experience preferred
• Comfort caring for adult and geriatric patients in a surgical and telemetry environment
• First-time travelers may be considered

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate nursing care for Med/Surg Telemetry patients
• Monitor telemetry and recognize changes in patient condition promptly
• Care for post-operative, trauma, cardiac overflow, and medically complex patients
• Administer medications, complete assessments, and coordinate interdisciplinary care
• Support recovery for patients with a wide range of surgical and medical diagnoses
• Document care accurately in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with the care team to maintain quality outcomes and patient safety
• Adapt to changing unit needs and float to like units when required
