Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $2,002 per week in Lufkin, TX

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: 18+ months of recent Med/Telemetry experience, strong communication and time management skills, rural hospital experience preferred Description: This role requires a team player who is dedicated to providing excellent care to patients. The work involves caring for patients with conditions such as congestive heart failure, diabetes, pneumonia, and chronic kidney disease. Staffing ratios on the unit are typically 5-6 patients per nurse. RNs will be responsible for reading telemetry strips, while telemetry monitor technicians will monitor patients' heart rhythms. Charge nurses and supervisors will be available to provide support. Patient care technicians will be present to assist with patient care. RNs may float to other medical-surgical units and possibly to the progressive care unit to care for telemetry holds prior to transfer. Shifts are scheduled by management, and block scheduling cannot be accommodated. Weekends and holidays are part of the schedule. The facility utilizes a Paragon charting system and is transitioning to a new system soon. The cancellation policy allows for cancellation of shifts under specific conditions.
