Floating Requirements: Sister units of 7N and 7S – All med-surg with same ratio/expectations.

Unit Information:
- Beds: 36
- Census: Average patients/day: Client = 33 currently
Minimum Years of Experience required: 1 year
Will you accept a first-time traveler: No
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
- General Med/Surg & Floor LOC post-operative patients.
- CBI and mirror 7South
- Bariatric; hips; trauma surgical; bucks traction
Patient Ratios:
- RN: 1:6
- LPN (if applicable): 1:6
- CNA: 1:9-12
Required Licensure & Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS – Resource Team requirements
Skills required:
- General care of the medical/surgical patient
- CBI and mirror 7 South
Support within the Department:
- CNA: Duties: Duties as assigned, within the scope of the CNA; General ADLs, vital signs, ambulation/mobility, assistance with feeding, blood sugars and other duties as assigned within the scope of the CNA.
- Receptionist/HUC: 7am-7:30pm, yes- 7pm-0730am, no.
- Charge nurse: Yes
- Phlebotomy: Yes
- IV/VAT Team: No
- Resource Nurse: No
- RT 24/7: Yes
- Hospitalist 24/7: Yes
- Intensivist 24/7: Yes
- Telemetry monitoring/tech: Yes
Technology/Equipment:
- EMR: Encompass/EPIC
- IV Pump: Baxter currently - moving to Alaris in 2026
- Med dispensing: Omnicell
- Monitors: Philips MX-40s
Unit specific equipment: Routine lifting equipment, VS equipment, CBG machines, wound vacs PRN, Baxter IV pumps. Specialty beds PRN.
Floating: If yes, where: Sister units of 7N and 7S – All med-surg with same ratio/expectations.
Orientation (facility and unit):
- NEO: Yes- facility
- 2 days departmental: yes, unit.
Scheduling:
- Weekend rotation: every other
- No call
- Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
- RTO: Resource Team approval
- Shift times: 0700-1930 or 1900-0730
- Schedule cycle: Every 6 weeks
