Job Summary (List Format):

- Provide patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) under supervision of unit leadership.
- Develop, initiate, and regularly update individualized care plans for patients.
- Assess physical, psychological, social, and educational needs of patients upon admission and throughout care.
- Deliver compassionate care and support to patients, families, and friends.
- Promote patient independence through education on condition management, medications, and self-care.
- Ensure quality of care by adhering to clinical standards, hospital policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to address and resolve patient needs and problems.
- Maintain infection control and medication safety standards.
- Ensure continuity of care through effective documentation and communication among healthcare teams.
- Demonstrate leadership, delegate tasks, and evaluate team members’ performance.
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient status with appropriate interventions and documentation.
- Provide ongoing patient and family education tailored to daily assessment and care needs.
- Prioritize patient care based on individual needs and acuity.
- Initiate referrals in collaboration with case management to meet patient discharge needs.
- Participate in continuing education and unit/hospital committees for ongoing professional development and performance improvement.
- Communicate concerns or problems through appropriate chain of command and participate in unit problem-solving.
- Ensure patient safety and proper use of equipment and technology.
- Adhere to hospital mission, vision, values, policies, and confidentiality requirements.
- Demonstrate age-appropriate care for assigned patient populations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.

Submission & Profile Requirements:
- 2+ years of recent Med Surg experience (required)
- Experience floating to Progressive Care Unit (PCU) (required)
- Proficient in Telemetry and heart rhythm interpretation (required)
- Must pass dysrhythmia test before working on the floor
- Covid vaccine required (exemptions allowed)
- Active Michigan RN license (required)
- Active AHA BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
- Recent work history, skills checklist, and supervisory references required
