Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Tele

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our medical-surgical and telemetry team. This position involves direct patient care in a fast-paced environment, dealing with a variety of medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with diverse medical diagnoses.
• Utilize telemetry for remote monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
• Implement IV insulin protocols and manage colostomy and feeding tube care.
• Administer blood products and manage central and peripheral line care.
• Perform phlebotomy and PICC line management, including starting IVs.
• Utilize non-invasive airway management and portable oxygen systems as needed.
• Adhere to isolation precautions and ensure proper wound care management.
• Collaborate with the Rapid Response Team when necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a medical-surgical and telemetry setting.
• Accepting first-time travelers and local candidates.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health record system is preferred.

Skills

• Strong clinical assessment skills and understanding of patient care.
• Proficiency in managing various patient conditions, including COVID-19, pneumonia, and COPD.
• Experience in pre/post-hemodialysis management.
• Ability to interpret ABGs and manage tracheostomy care.

Work Conditions

Shifts are 12 hours at night, with a requirement for 36 to 48 hours per week. The target nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6. There may be a need for contract staff to participate in emergency response teams during catastrophic events.

Additional Information

• Floating to different units may be required based on the needs of the organization.
• A weekend commitment of 12-16 shifts per contract period is expected.
• Unit orientation spans 24 hours, with hospital orientation scheduled in the first week.

Candidates must be prepared to pass EKG testing prior to the start of the role. Scrubs should be navy and white.
