Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice or compact RN licensure
• At least 1 year of RN experience required; previous medical-surgical or telemetry nursing experience preferred
• BLS required
• ACLS required prior to direct patient care or within the expected timeline of the assignment
• Must be comfortable caring for telemetry and med/surg patients in a fast-paced acute care environment
• Dysrhythmia exam required
• Experience with chest tubes, NG tubes, TPN, non-titrated Diltiazem and Amiodarone infusions, and post-cath lab recovery strongly preferred
• Ability to provide safe, professional patient care while supporting a variety of acute medical and surgical needs

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized plans of care
• Monitor telemetry, recognize rhythm changes, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications safely and accurately in accordance with nursing standards and hospital policy
• Care for patients with chest tubes, NG tubes, TPN, oxygen support, heparin, and Lasix therapy as ordered
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate patient-centered care
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, recovery goals, and discharge readiness
• Document care clearly and maintain a strong focus on patient safety, quality, and clinical excellence
• Adapt quickly to changing patient needs while maintaining calm, compassionate, and confident clinical judgment
