Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med Surg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years required License: Must have an active state nursing license Certifications: BLS, ACLS required Must-Have: - Must successfully pass an EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with a minimum overall score of 80% and a score of 100% on lethal rhythms. - 2 years of experience in Med Surg/Telemetry nursing required. - Experience with cardiac monitoring, genitourinary/renal, and IV therapy/phlebotomy. - Cerner experience required. - Previous charge experience preferred. - Must float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity. Description: The role is for a Registered Nurse specializing in Med Surg/Telemetry. This position requires rotating weekend and holiday shifts. The nurse will manage a patient ratio of 1:6. Responsibilities include monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The nurse will provide care for patients with diagnoses such as renal failure, sepsis, and diabetes. Skills required include management of dysrhythmias, wound care, and intravenous medication administration. Isolation precautions and use of personal protective equipment are necessary. Candidates should be comfortable with various medical procedures and equipment specific to Med Surg/Telemetry. The position involves significant patient interaction and requires the ability to respond to rapid changes in patient status. Documentation and charting duties are performed using Cerner. Ongoing education and compliance with standard protocols are essential. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong critical thinking and communication skills.
