# Job Opportunity – ED Holding Support RN – North Carolina

Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week; Every other weekend required; Patient ratios of 1:6 for MS/Tele or 1:4 for PCU level patients
Highlights
- ED Holding Support position within Float Pool serving patients awaiting inpatient placement
- Fast-paced environment with high acuity medical/surgical adult patients including PCU-level care
- Contract duration: 13+ weeks with a hard stop date of February 27, 2027 to support through the holiday season

- Float to ED and Med/Surg areas as needed; opportunity to work with diverse patient populations
- Standard medical equipment including cardiac monitors, IV pumps, and telemetry systems
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Core competencies: MS/Tele experience, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring (unit and remote), blood product administration, isolation precautions, and respiratory support (CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC)
- Additional required skills: Colostomy care, feeding tube management, renal failure experience, peripheral and PICC line care, phlebotomy, heparin and insulin protocols, chest tube management, ABG interpretation, airway management, and tracheostomy care
- Preferred qualifications: NIHSS certification, IV insulin protocols, hemodialysis management, port access, central line blood draws, IV starts, CVA care, pre/post neuro surgery, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injury, ortho trauma, total joint replacements, and wound care/wound vac experience
- Availability to work during catastrophic events or disasters as part of Storm/Hurricane Team assignment
