Pay & Benefits

• Estimated gross weekly pay: $2,050

  • Taxable hourly rate: $21.75

  • Housing stipend: $791/week

  • Meal stipend: $476/week

• Overtime for hours over 40 per week

About the Facility

Facility is licensed for 457 beds and is a Level 3 Trauma center. It is also a Stroke Center of Excellence, a Bariatric Center of Excellence and a Chest Pain Center.

The unit averages about 51 patients a day. The culture is built on teamwork and accountability.

The Role

You'll care for medical/surgical and telemetry patients. Common diagnoses include:

• Chronic diseases

• CHF (specialty area)

• COPD

• Diabetes

• Wounds

• Geriatric care

• Mental health

• Addiction services, including patients needing 6 weeks of IV antibiotics

Details:

• Ratio: RN 1:4-6 depending on acuity. Surge times can increase to 1:7-8.

• CNA ratio: 1:7

• Support: nurse manager, administrative clinical supervisor, clinical supervisor, clinical mentor, rapid response RN and house supervisor

• EMR: Epic

• Equipment: scales, vein finder, EKG, crash cart, doppler, language interpreter, and a tele-medicine cart for online patient assessments

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC or compact)

• Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Tele RN experience

• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

• Solid general Med/Tele skill set, including:

  • Cardiac rhythm interpretation

  • Non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem/Amiodarone)

  • Care of patients with tubes and drains

  • IV starts

  • Blood products

  • Wound care and dressing changes

• First-time travelers welcome

• Radius rule: your permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the unit

Schedule & Expectations

• Weekend rotation: every other weekend

• No on-call requirements

• Holidays: travelers work 75% of holidays

• Schedule cycle: 6 weeks

• Time off: up to 6 days off can be approved, excluding holidays. Missed hours must be added to the end of the contract.

• Orientation: facility NEO plus 2 days of departmental orientation

• Scrub color: navy blue
