Registered Nurse (RN) - Medical Surgical/Telemetry

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit. The primary patient population includes observation patients, individuals with respiratory conditions, general medical surgical diagnoses, and various specialty care including palliative, end-of-life, hospice, psychiatric observation, and diabetes management.

Schedule

The position is 3x12 hour shifts, primarily on nights from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, with every other weekend and holidays required as needed. Flexibility to float to other units may be necessary based on patient care needs across multiple locations within the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with varied medical surgical diagnoses.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, ensuring timely interventions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to create and implement patient care plans.
• Utilize EPIC for electronic medical records and documentation.
• Support patients and families through education and counseling, particularly in palliative and hospice care.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required.
• First-time travelers are encouraged to apply.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required.
• Ability to pass an EKG exam during onboarding.
• Previous charge RN experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Patient Care Focus

The role encompasses caring for a diverse range of patients, including those recovering from surgery, managing chronic conditions like diabetes, and those in need of psychiatric support.
