Registered Nurse (RN) - MS/Tele

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the Medical-Surgical/Telemetry unit. This position involves providing high-quality care to patients, including those with acute and chronic conditions, during night shifts.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care to acutely ill medical-surgical and orthopedic patients.
• Monitor and manage patients with a variety of diagnoses, including respiratory illnesses, post-operative conditions, and diabetic emergencies.
• Administer IV medication drips, such as Heparin and Total Nutritional Admixture (TNA), as required.
• Float between various facilities as needed to maintain patient care standards.
• Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.

Patient Population

The Registered Nurse will care for patients with the following conditions:

• Acute and chronic respiratory illnesses
• Post-operative care for general surgery and gynecological procedures
• Orthopedic surgeries including total knee and hip replacements
• Management of acute and chronic pain
• Active gastrointestinal bleeding
• Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) and pulmonary edema
• Diabetic emergencies (hyperglycemia and hypoglycemia)
• Renal failures
• Substance overdoses

Additional considerations for care may include patients with a Clinical Institute Withdrawal (CIWA) score below 7, suicidal tendencies, arrhythmias, stable COVID-19 cases, and those requiring radioactive therapy or seizure management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
• Experience in Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing is essential.
• BLS certification is required; ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale certifications are preferred.
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply.

Work Schedule

This position requires night shifts, specifically a 3x12 hour schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, on an every-other-week rotation, including holidays as needed.
