Description
Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele
Profession: Registered Nurse

Hours per Shift: 12 hours
Experience: Minimum of 2 years Med/Surg/Tele RN experience required
License: Required RN License
Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred
Must-Have:
- Six months of EPIC experience required
- Strong assessment and time management skills
- Telemetry skills required, including monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms
- Experience with drip titration and management
Description:
RN - Medical-Surgical/Telemetry position available.
The facility is a Level 1 Trauma Designation teaching hospital.
The unit has 20-36 beds available.
Common diagnoses include both acute and chronic diseases.
Patients may present with co-morbidities such as diabetes, hypertension, and electrolyte imbalances.
Cardiac patients and post-surgical cases are frequently encountered.
Patient ratios are approximately 1:4-6 for RNs and LPNs, with CNAs up to 1:14.
BLS certification is required, and ACLS is preferred, with the expectation to pass an EKG competency exam upon onboarding.
Certification in medical-surgical nursing is a plus.
Required skills include trach care, chest tube management, and IV maintenance.
Care coordination with an interdisciplinary team and patient education are essential components of the role.
Travelers will be required to float to all Med/Tele units as needed.
The unit culture is busy and team-oriented, with support from CNAs and a resource nurse team.
Additional support includes 24/7 respiratory therapy and hospitalist services.
All necessary medical equipment and technology will be provided for effective patient care.
