Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Med/Surg Telemetry, Neuroscience | Baltimore, MD
Join a collaborative neuroscience and medical-surgical telemetry team as a Travel Registered Nurse in Baltimore, Maryland. Care for adult and geriatric patients in a 36-bed unit recognized for stroke care and epilepsy monitoring while expanding your neuro, telemetry, and post-surgical nursing skills.
Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,850–$1,950
- Assignment Dates: November 9, 2026 – February 15, 2027
- Duration: Approximately 14 weeks
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts
- Shift Hours: 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
- Hours per Week: 36
- Setting: On-site, 36-bed Neuro Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Location: Baltimore, Maryland
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:5
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend and applicable holidays
- Floating: May float within scope to medical-surgical and medical-surgical telemetry units based on patient care needs
- Charting: Cerner

Travel Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent medical-surgical and telemetry nursing experience
- Required experience with neurology, acute stroke/CVA care, and pre- and post-neurosurgical patients
- Experience caring for patients with spinal cord injuries and traumatic brain injuries
- Experience with renal failure, pre- and post-hemodialysis care, and feeding-tube management
- Active Maryland or compact Registered Nurse (RN) license at the time of submission
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Maryland-approved trauma education, including the required trauma coursework
- Completion of the required basic EKG assessment before orientation
- Completion of annual stroke and trauma-related continuing education requirements
- Telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV therapy, wound care, and isolation/PPE competency
- Travel nursing experience is not required; first-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Previous charge experience, Level I or II trauma experience, and TCRN certification are preferred
Registered Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care for patients with neurological, medical-surgical, and telemetry diagnoses
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using bedside and remote telemetry systems
- Care for patients with CVA, ischemic stroke, epilepsy, seizures, cervical stenosis, radiculopathy, rhabdomyolysis, alcohol withdrawal, and traumatic brain or spinal cord injuries
- Deliver pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing laminectomy, ACDF, craniotomy, and other neurosurgical procedures
- Participate in continuous bedside EEG monitoring and neurological assessments
- Manage feeding tubes, central lines, PICC lines, peripheral IVs, surgical drains, chest tubes, wound care, and wound vacs
- Administer oxygen, blood products, and medications in accordance with established protocols
- Provide pre- and post-hemodialysis care and support patients with renal impairment
- Recognize changes in patient condition and activate rapid response or code teams when appropriate
- Collaborate with providers, rehabilitation services, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, radiology, social services, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team
- Float to comparable units within scope and maintain high standards of care across changing assignments
- Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in Cerner
