Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 2 years in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry License: Valid Registered Nurse license required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS (current and cannot expire within 30 days of start); ACLS preferred Must-Have: Experience with EPIC charting system Description: Upcoming orientation dates are 5/11 and 6/11. BLS and NIHSS certifications are required. ACLS certification is preferred. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry. Experience with EPIC is required. Nurses will float within their scope of practice. The position requires 4 weekend shifts during the contract. Full contract length is required. Team nursing model will be practiced, with an RN to LPN ratio of 2:8. Nurses will need to confirm understanding of the team nursing ratios upon offer. Candidates may be required to float to another facility on rare occasions. Patient ratios for day and night shifts are typically 6. Daily census is approximately 34 patients. The unit is supported by interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Skills needed include managing telemetry, blood product administration, and care for various medical interventions. Nurses must be prepared to work with a range of adult and geriatric patients. The manager reserves the right to schedule staff as necessary. Blocked scheduling will not be accommodated. Travelers are eligible for consideration with specific DUI guidelines.
