Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in an inpatient department focused on telemetry and stroke care. The successful candidate will provide specialized nursing care to a diverse patient population with multiple co-morbidities, including stroke patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor patients via telemetry, including remote and on-unit observation.
• Provide feeding tube care and management.
• Administer blood products and manage central and peripheral lines, including PICC line management.
• Start IVs as necessary for patient care.
• Implement isolation precautions and execute wound care, including the use of wound vacs.
• Maintain patient safety and comfort while adhering to protocols for CVA and nasal cannula management.
• Float to various facilities as needed based on patient care demands.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required; first-time travelers are welcome to apply.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale certifications are required.
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in telemetry, including remote monitoring and direct patient observation.
• Experience managing patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:6.

Schedule

This position requires night shifts (3x12 hours) from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM and includes participation in holiday and weekend coverage on an every-other-week basis.
