Job Summary: Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS Telemetry) in a busy acute care hospital setting. The position involves providing specialized nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with a variety of medical-surgical diagnoses, including those requiring telemetry monitoring. The role emphasizes clinical competency in surgical patient care, with focus on enhancing patient outcomes through adherence to established care protocols and collaborative interdisciplinary support.
Job Details:
Shift: 12-hour days, starting 10/19/2026, with an end date of 01/18/2027.
Schedule: 36 hours per week, typically scheduled over three 12-hour shifts.
Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS); 3 years of nursing experience preferred or at least 1 year for first-time travel clinicians; valid license in the required state; experience with electronic charting using EPIC; clinical proficiency in caring for general surgical and medical patients, including those with co-morbidities such as diabetes, COPD, renal issues, infectious diseases, and postoperative conditions; experience with orthopedic and neuro surgeries is required.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in surgical and telemetry units; familiarity with ERAS program protocols; proficiency in orthopedic totals and fracture management; neuro surgical experience preferred.
Float: Float within scope to other medical-surgical floors and locations such as Memorial Belleville and Memorial Shiloh as needed.
Additional Information: Candidate must be willing to work every other weekend (total of 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period), with prior approval for time off limited to a maximum of 7 days of RTO. No local candidates within a 75-mile radius are accepted; RTO restrictions apply. Must complete required labs within 48-72 hours of signing the contract. Modules related to compliance are billable and must be completed prior to the start date.
