Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 15 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience within the last 3 years in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry License: Oregon RN license is acceptable; pending licensure is acceptable Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Must be able to read telemetry strips. Candidates must have experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias. Description: The position requires a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry. The nurse will provide care to patients with a range of medical conditions. Ratios will be 1 RN to 4-6 patients. Candidates must be able to administer and manage various medications, including cardiac and insulin drips. The role may involve floating to other units as needed. All candidates must have experience with computerized documentation. This will involve using an electronic health record system. Candidates should have the ability to function in a rapidly changing environment. Experience in a similar care setting is preferred. The responsibilities include patient assessments, care planning, and implementation of interventions. Patient care will range from medical-surgical to intermediate levels. The nurse will collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure quality patient care. Understanding and following isolation precautions and protocols is essential. Active participation in rapid response team activations is required. Candidates must demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills. The position requires adherence to facility policies and procedures. All candidates must provide proof of BLS certification through an approved organization.
