· Beds: Will vary based on unit

Minimum Years of Experience required: 18 months Med/Tele RN (Resource Team requirement)
· Will you accept a first-time traveler: Not preferred but will consider

● Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
o Will be assigned a home unit on the first day of orientation

· 12 Beds
· Patient Types: Med/Tele Overflow area to support all inpatient units/ED holding; Diagnoses include but are not limited to: CHF, COPD, Chest Pain workup, Stroke s/s, Respiratory issues, etc.; Testing is prioritized
7North/South Ortho Surgical
· 48 Beds
· Patient Types: General Medical Overflow; Surgical Patients - Include, but are not limited to: total joint replacements (knees, hips, shoulders), spinal surgery (laminectomies, discectomies, fusions), shoulder procedures, etc.
· Additional Skills Required: Ortho Experience; Spinal precautions
6S Medical Telemetry
· 34 Beds
· Patient Types: COPD, Respiratory illnesses, Diabetic Ulcer, Abdominal pain, Pancreatitis, Altered Mental Status, ESRD, etc.
5N Surgical Telemetry
· 26 Beds
· Patient Types: General Medical Telemetry Overflow; Surgical Patients - Bariatric weight loss surgery, Urology procedures, General post op, Abdominal surgeries – GI bleed, small bowel obstruction, foot and ankle surgery
4N Cardiac Medical Telemetry
· 29 Beds
· Patient Types: Include, but are not limited to: congestive heart failure, pulmonary edema, hypertension, stroke, cardiac arrhythmias, endocarditis, and initial cardiac work up for chest pain and/or shortness of breath. Initial cardiac work up typically includes prepping patients for cardiac stress test

· Patient Types: New diagnosis DM, Chest Pain, R/O stroke, Abdominal pain, GI bleed, Detox, Suicidal Ideation, Altered Mental Status

Patient Ratios:
· RN: 1:5-6 (critical surge 1:7-8)
· CNA: 1:6-12

● Required Licensure & Certifications:
· BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Resource Team requirement)

● Skills required:
· The only unit with additional skills needed is 7N/S Ortho – see above
· General Med/Tele skillset: Stroke experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management (Dobhoff, PEG tubes, Hemovac, JP drains, flexiseals, foley insertion/management, etc), PCA pumps
· Medication gtt management to include: Cardiac drips, Heparin, blood products, IVF
● Support within the Department:
· CNA
· Receptionist/HUC
· Charge nurse – may or may not have patients
· Phlebotomy – peripheral blood draws
· IV/VAT Team: 11a-7p, 11p-7a
· Resource Nurse – as staffing allows
· RT, 24/7

· Intensivist - ICU provider in house until 11p M-F, till 7p Sat/Sun, VCC coverage and on call Intensivist
