Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $2,135 per week in Phoenix, AZ

Job Title: RNII - MedSurg/Tele Float Pool Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience License: Yes, required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Level 1 trauma experience Description: Candidates must have Level 1 trauma experience. Local candidates are not eligible. The candidate's driver's license will be used to verify eligibility. Pre-screen interviews are required. Auto offers are provided with 7 days of PTO or less. Holiday time off must be approved by management prior to contract submission. Candidates must pass a basic dysrhythmia exam within 2 attempts, with a passing score of 80%. If the exam is failed, candidates will be inactive for 6 months within the specified regions. All Tele RNs will be required to complete a skills lab for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes. Travelers must demonstrate competency in maintaining a sterile field during the skills lab. Failure to maintain a sterile field may result in termination during the skills lab. Candidates who are not confident in either of these skills may not be a good fit. Travelers will also participate in educational sessions on lifts, restraints, and wound care. The float pool supports multiple medical-surgical, telemetry, neuro, and observation units. Typical staff-to-patient ratios vary from 1:3 to 1:6. Prior experience in a Level 1 trauma center and teaching hospital is preferred. Travelers must be willing to float and should not refuse assignments based on unit preference. Flexibility in floating between units is required. Weekend requirements include 4 shifts every 4 weeks, specifically on Saturdays and Sundays. Holidays are assigned based on unit needs. Shifts are scheduled four weeks in advance and may be adjusted two weeks in advance by hospital needs. There is no call requirement; however, standby response time is 30 minutes. Staff will receive assignments 30-60 minutes in advance via a messaging service or phone calls. Nurses are expected to be present on the unit for shift huddles at the designated start times. All reports are to be completed at the bedside. A two-person skin assessment is required within the first four hours of each shift. The hospital reserves the right to cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment. The charting system used is Cerner.
