Must-Have:
Must be able to titrate cardiac drips.
Travelers will need to pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to signing the contract.
Travelers have a maximum of two attempts to pass the exam within 48 hours of offer.
Failure to pass will result in being sent home and noted as DNU for six months.
There is also a pass/fail simulation lab on day one of orientation.

Description:
Position requires floating between all telemetry and medical-surgical units.
Floating is mandatory and may include ICU, cardiac telemetry, and other holding areas.
Nurses will float to different units with no prior notification up to 1.5 hours before the shift start.
Mid-shift floating to other units may occur, though rare to float to another campus within a single shift.
The distance between campuses is approximately nine miles, averaging 15 minutes travel time.
Nurses must clock out and in when transitioning campuses.
Ratios in various units are typically 1:3-4.
Charge nurses do not have patient assignments but supervise nursing activities.
Patient care techs are assigned based on the number of patients on the unit.
Common diagnoses include post-cardiac procedures, neuro post-surgical cases, and general telemetry patients.
No pediatric patients are included; the minimum age for patients is 15 years old.
General medical-surgical patients that require telemetry monitoring may also be treated across units.
The position involves working four weekend shifts within a four-week period and two of three major holidays.
Nurses must have the ability to interpret EKGs and manage medications such as amiodarone and nitroglycerin.
All shifts are 12 hours, with an expectation of working two shifts per unit for orientation purposes.
Job cancellation policy allows for cancellation of up to four shifts per 13-week assignment.
Charting will be completed using a specified electronic system.
The position does not require a BSN degree.
