Job Summary:
Cardiac Renal Unit Medical Surgical with Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) position is available in Newburgh, Indiana. This role involves providing specialized care for patients post cardiac procedures, including heart caths, ablations, pacemakers, and management of various cardiac and renal conditions. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day. The position offers night shifts and requires a minimum of 36 hours per week.
Job Details:
- Location: Newburgh, Indiana
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: Active compact license, AHA Basic Life Support (BLS), AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), Associate Degree or Certificate, minimum of two years of strong cardiac/telemetry experience, at least one travel assignment, trauma level II experience, recent EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) experience, and current certifications.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in recovery from heart caths and femoral/TR band management, PIV insertion, chest tube management, drip management (e.g., Cardizem, Amio, Heparin, Lasix, Protonix), CBI, detox/CIWA protocol, central line care, and assessment/critical thinking skills.
- Float: Float rotation may be required within skillset to other nearby campuses, with a two-hour notice for cross-campus float.
- Additional Information: The unit has 34 beds with patient ratios of 1:4-5 during days and 1:6-7 during nights. The team is supported by strong leadership; candidates should be resilient, social, and able to manage change effectively. This role may involve precepting students and new hires. Scrubs are navy blue with no competing logos. Up to three call-ins may result in termination. COVID-19 vaccination is not required but subject to change.
