Job Title: Medical Surgical / Tele Observation Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical / Tele Observation Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: 2 years of experience required License: Active Registered Nurse license required Certifications: ACLS (AHA), BLS (AHA), NIHSS preferred Must-Have: ACLS certification BLS certification Experience in MedSurg acute care setting Description: Unit has 10 beds with Tele capability on all beds. Shifts are 12 hours with a 36-hour guarantee and no cancellations. Support staff includes Tele techs, charge nurse, health unit coordinators, and patient care technicians. Nurse to patient ratios are 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night, with 1:4 for pediatric patients based on acuity level. Nurse managers do not provide patient care but conduct rounds. Position may require floating to all medical surgical units and ICU for overflow patients. Any color scrubs may be worn, but scrubs are not provided.
