Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $2,170 per week in Auburn, NY

Job Title: Med Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: MS/Tele Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent experience License: Client License required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: MS/Tele experience Interpretation of dysrhythmias Management of dysrhythmias Use of Rapid Response/Code teams Peripheral Line Care/Management Nasal Cannula and Oxygen administration Oxygen tank management Non-invasive airway management Isolation precautions Description: The Med Surg/Telemetry Registered Nurse will provide care for patients in the medical-surgical and telemetry units. They will be responsible for the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. The nurse will work collaboratively with Rapid Response and Code teams. Care and management of peripheral lines will be required. The nurse will administer oxygen as needed, using nasal cannula and oxygen tanks. Non-invasive airway management and isolation precautions must be adhered to at all times. Floating to different units may be required as per facility needs. Every other weekend and every other holiday work is mandatory. Recent experience within the past year is required. All requests for time off must be provided with the initial submittal. Coverage for any additional shifts will be the responsibility of the traveler. Nurses will independently interpret telemetry strips for all telemetry patients in their care. Successful completion of a telemetry assessment is required during orientation. They must maintain a minimum score to ensure proficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation. The assessment covers identification of heart blocks, various arrhythmias, and paced rhythms. Nurses are expected to understand normal interval durations on telemetry strips and clinical interventions in response to arrhythmias.
