Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years required; first-time travelers accepted License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience in medical-surgical/telemetry Description: We are seeking a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical-Surgical/Telemetry. This position is for night shifts with a 12-hour duration. The nurse will be responsible for providing care to a general medical-surgical population and telemetry patients. Patients will include adults and geriatric individuals. Common diagnoses include congestive heart failure, cellulitis, osteomyelitis, pancreatitis, and various post-operative conditions. The nurse will manage drips that are not titratable, such as Cardizem, amiodarone, heparin, and others. Additionally, the nurse will be required to perform EKGs and monitor telemetry. The nurse-patient ratio will typically be 1:5. Weekend work is required every other weekend, as well as holidays as scheduled. Floating to other areas with lower acuity may be required based on census needs. Specific skills needed include managing central lines, chest tubes, and blood product administration. The ideal candidate must have experience interpreting dysrhythmias and managing cardiac drips. Candidates must be comfortable with rapid response and code teams as needed. Successful candidates will be team-oriented, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. References will be required from recent employers. It is important to adhere to all compliance requirements set forth for this position.
