- Patient Ratio: 1:4
- Float Requirement: Required to float to similar or lower-acuity Med/Surg Oncology units
- Setting: Adult Med/Surg Oncology and Telemetry
Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in hand at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of current acute care experience in a Med/Surg Telemetry or Med/Surg Tele RN role
- Current and consistent experience within the last 12 months is required
- BLS certification required
- Epic charting experience required
- Previous travel nurse experience preferred
- Experience with telemetry, dysrhythmia interpretation, and oncology-related care strongly preferred
- Ability to provide 2 professional references, including at least 1 manager, director, or supervisor reference
- Completion of required compliance and fingerprinting steps within the required timeline
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care to adults and geriatrics on a Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to telemetry changes
- Support patients receiving chemotherapy, symptom management, and treatment for complex medical conditions
- Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and perform required nursing interventions
- Care for patients with ports, central lines, PICC lines, and other specialized access devices
- Assist with blood product administration, insulin drips, chest tube care, and respiratory support as needed
- Promote infection prevention and fall prevention practices throughout every shift
- Accurately document care in Epic and collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
- Float to comparable units when needed to support patient care and staffing needs
