Travel Nurse Job Details

• Setting: 12-bed medical-surgical telemetry unit

• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
• Start Date: 10/05/2026
• Contract Length: 16 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 4:1 on days, nights, and weekends
• Orientation: 72 hours
• Population: Adults and geriatrics
• Work Environment: Supportive interdisciplinary team with access to IV therapy, respiratory services, social services, radiology, pharmacy, transportation, and rapid response support

Registered Nurse Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care RN experience required
• Recent Med/Surg Tele or comparable acute care experience strongly preferred
• Active compact or Ohio RN license in hand at time of submission
• BLS required
• ACLS preferred/required per unit needs
• Epic experience required
• Strong experience interpreting dysrhythmias and managing telemetry patients
• Experience with IV starts, peripheral line care, oxygen administration, and non-invasive airway support
• Comfort working with patients experiencing serious illness, pain, nausea, fatigue, and other complex symptoms
• Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited program

Med/Surg Tele RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to patients with serious, life-limiting illnesses
• Monitor telemetry, assess for rhythm changes, and respond appropriately to patient needs
• Support symptom management, including pain relief, nausea control, and comfort-focused interventions
• Administer medications and therapies according to plan of care and unit standards
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in Epic
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote dignity, comfort, and quality of life
• Float to equivalent or lower-acuity units as needed
• Perform standard medical-surgical nursing duties, including IV management, phlebotomy support, and patient education
• Help create a calm, supportive environment for patients and families during challenging moments
