Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse / Neuro Med-Surg Telemetry – Maryland
Start Date: November 9, 2026
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM; Three 12-hour shifts per week; Every other weekend and holiday required; Patient ratio 1:5
Highlights:
- 36-bed Neuro Med-Surg/Telemetry unit at a Certified Stroke Center and Level IV Epilepsy Monitoring Unit
- Diverse case mix including CVA, ischemic stroke, epilepsy, seizures, radiculopathy, cervical stenosis, rhabdomyolysis, post-laminectomy, post-ACDF, post-craniotomy, and ETOH withdrawal
- Continuous bedside EEG monitoring, telemetry monitoring, and advanced neuro diagnostics utilized on unit
- Experience with teaching hospital and Level I or Level II trauma center preferred
- Charting system: Cerner
- May float to Med-Surg and Med-Surg/Telemetry units within scope based on hospital needs
Requirements:
- Active Maryland or Compact RN license required at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years of Med-Surg/Telemetry experience required
- Neurology experience required; CVA/acute stroke care and pre/post-neurosurgery experience required
- Experience with spinal cord injury and traumatic brain injury required
- Feeding-tube care, pre/post-hemodialysis care, and renal-failure experience required
- Surgical drain, wound care/wound VAC, oxygen administration, and isolation/PPE experience required
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications required
- Basic EKG testing through Prophecy Relias required and must be successfully completed before orientation
- Maryland-approved trauma education required (16 hours by week 27)
- 8 hours annual stroke continuing education required
- 4 hours annual trauma-related continuing education required
- TCRN certification preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
