Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $2,214 per week in Glen Burnie, MD

The contract length is 13 weeks. The shifts are 3x12 hours, from 20:00 to 08:30. The average daily census is 18 patients. The unit has 24 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5. Patient demographics include adults and geriatrics. Common patient diagnoses include general med-surg telemetry patients, TIA, respiratory illnesses such as COPD, urology, gynecology, cellulitis/wound care, palliative care, infectious processes, gastrointestinal issues, early recovery after surgery, and observation patients. Special procedures include mixed med-surg with telemetry. Floating within specialty and to other units is required. Every other weekend and holiday work is required as scheduled. This position requires strong skills in blood product administration, central line care, chest tube management, continuous bladder irrigation, feeding tube care, heparin protocols, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and wound care. Candidates must be comfortable with isolation precautions and PPE. Travel experience is preferred but not required. Most units will require CPI certification for compliance, specifically the Calm Every Storm online version. All other certifications must be from AHA.
