Travel Nurse RN - Med/Surg / Telemetry - $2,217 per week in Show Low, AZ

Job Title: Med Surg/Tele Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Med Surg/Tele RN Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: PALS preferred Description: The unit has 24 beds with MedSurg and Tele capability on all beds. There is a heavy emphasis on Telemetry. The patient population includes adult and pediatric patients; however, travelers do not take pediatric patients as these are assigned to permanent staff. Candidates must be strong in Neuro and Cardiac skills. A minimum of 2 years of experience is required along with ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications. PALS certification is preferred. The shift is 12 hours with a guarantee of 36 hours per week and up to 3 cancellations during the contract. The electronic medical record system used is Allscripts. Support staff on the unit includes Telemetry technicians, charge nurses, healthcare unit coordinators, and patient care technicians. The nurse to patient ratios are 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night. This is also subject to the level of acuity. Nurse managers do not provide direct patient care, but they do rounds. Staff may be required to float to all Med Surg units and take overflow patients from the ICU. Hospitalists are in-house 24/7. There is no IV team available. Respiratory therapy services are available 24/7. Pharmacy services operate 24/7. Scrub color can be any color except all black. Scrubs are not provided.
