Medical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Medical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) for a new 24-bed private room inpatient unit specializing in medical telemetry. In this role, you will provide high-quality patient care, monitoring and interpreting cardiac telemetry strips for adult medical patients.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor patients' cardiac telemetry and vital signs.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and their families about health management and treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation using the EPIC electronic medical record system.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 3 years of experience in a clinical setting, with 2 years as a traveler.
• Active Massachusetts RN License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
• Strong ability to read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips.

Working Conditions

• Full-time position with 36 hours per week, scheduled for nights and every other weekend.
• Clinician to patient ratio of 4 to 5 patients per RN.
• Floating between departments may be required as needed.
• Rotating shifts are required to cover open night shifts.
