Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med/Surg/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active Nursing License required Certifications: BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Telemetry experience Ability to interpret dysrhythmias Experience with cardiac telemetry Management of dysrhythmias Telemetry unit monitoring Description: The position requires a registered nurse with experience in Med/Surg and Telemetry. The daily census is approximately 29 patients with 30 rooms available. The nurse will be responsible for monitoring patients and performing necessary interventions. Qualifications include the ability to manage and administer blood products, central line care and management, and heparin protocols. Experience with IV start and maintenance is essential. The nurse will be responsible for tracheostomy care and management as well as wound care. Additional responsibilities include working with rapid response and code teams. The nurse should also be familiar with managing patients who have undergone total joint replacements and those suffering from sepsis or cardiac arrhythmias. The role may involve floating within the service line and to sister facilities as needed. Weekend coverage is required, with 4-6 shifts every 6 weeks. Patients primarily consist of adults and geriatrics. The nurse will work closely with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. A collaborative approach to patient care is essential.
