Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical, Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Current nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI preferred Must-Have: - Community hospital experience required - Previous charge experience preferred - Ability to float between departments as needed Description: The position requires a PCU Registered Nurse. The nurse will work in a 1:5 patient ratio environment. Regular floating may be required to meet facility needs. The nurse should have experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency response. Duties include interpreting dysrhythmias and managing dysrhythmias. The nurse will be involved in telemetry monitoring, including post-cardiac angiogram and pre/post cardiac catheterization care. Feeding tube care and management, as well as pre/post hemodialysis management, will be key responsibilities. The nurse will also administer medications according to protocols and manage IV therapy and phlebotomy. Responsibilities include managing PCA and vasoactive drips without titration. The nurse should be prepared to provide care for patients with various diagnoses, including heart failure, sepsis, pneumonia, and alcohol withdrawal. Completion of special procedures, such as femoral line management, is expected. Wound care and isolation precautions knowledge are crucial for this role. The nurse will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams, including respiratory services and social services. The facility has a total of 240 staffed beds, with a focus on adult and geriatric patient populations. Daily census on the unit averages around 24 patients. Telemetry is utilized as part of the patient care approach. Special equipment includes telemetry monitoring systems. The nurse will be expected to provide quality care while adhering to all policies and procedures.
