Description:
This position involves working night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30.
There will be variable days with every other weekend required, specifically Friday to Sunday.
Some holidays may also be required depending on operational needs.
The nurse will work on a 28-bed unit with a diverse medical/surgical patient population.
Patients may be admitted post-operatively or for medical conditions until they transition to a specific nursing unit.
The nurse will utilize their expertise in assessment and intervention.
Key responsibilities include managing telemetry on the unit, administering medications, and providing care for various patient diagnoses.
The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration, including IV teams, respiratory services, and social services.
Travelers are required to float as needed within the acute care division.
A telemetry exam will be required prior to starting, with strict passing criteria.
The adult exam must include 100% identification of lethal rhythms and no errors on questions regarding third-degree heart blocks.
A passing score of 80% or higher is required for both the adult and pediatric exams.
Travelers will have two attempts to pass the telemetry exam, with further requirements if they do not pass within those attempts.
This role is within a Magnet-designated facility recognized as a leading hospital and teaching institution.
