Registered Nurse, Medical/Surgical

The Registered Nurse is accountable for delivering patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This role involves directing and coordinating all nursing care for patients based on established clinical nursing practice standards while collaborating with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate comprehensive care for a group of patients within the Joint Center and Medical-Surgical units.
• Provide direct patient care and maintain the highest quality of nursing standards.
• Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and nonprofessional personnel.
• Ensure that all aspects of patient care are managed effectively and according to established protocols.
• Report to the Nurse Manager/Director and operate within organizational and departmental policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience in orthopedic surgical care is strongly preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
